When I used to work as a residential counselor for kids one of my favorite mealtime games was Two Truths and a Lie/Fib. So this month for our Non Prop game I decided to include a write-up for this fun game from The Empty Bag book, by Chris Calvert and Dick Hammond, and then tell you three short stories about myself. Two of them will be the truth, and one will be a big ol' fib! First, the write-up, Second, the Stories....... For each person that emails me the correct answer will receive a little treat from Training Wheels, so you'd better play! (only one entry per person! No fair emailing me three times with different answers!)

Type of Activity: Get to Know You

Props needed
: none

Playing the Game: Two Truths and a Fib (or Two) (traditional party game). You just need some sitting around room. Works well with 8 to 25 for 15 to 25 minutes.

Process: If you have a large group of players you might want to make 2 groups. This involves a little creative story telling that seems to work better with the older participants. But, donŐt let it stop you. When your group is sitting around have someone share three (real) short stories or statements about themselves. Two of these stories or statements must be true, one is not. After the statements, go around to each player and find out which statement they think is the fib.  After everyone has made their vote the fibber can share the fib.  This is a fun way to get to know each other a little better.
